Yes. Your player name, win/loss record, rank, trophies, settings, and daily challenge progress are automatically saved in your browser's local storage. Note: clearing your browser data will reset your progress.
Yes! ReverStarGo is a PWA (Progressive Web App). Once you've visited the site, you can play offline. Adding it to your home screen makes it even more convenient.
The one exception is "Play a Remote Opponent," which needs an internet connection. CPU matches, pass-and-play, and daily challenges all work offline as before.

Yes. Select "2 Players" in the game settings to play pass-and-play on a single device.
You can also play someone far away. Just share a 4-digit room code and you're connected — no sign-up, no extra cost. See the Guide for the steps.

First, double-check the 4-digit room code. Then try the following in order.
1. Open the game in a different browser
This alone narrows things down. If it only fails in one browser, that browser's settings are the cause.
2. On a Mac: allow local network access
Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network and make sure your browser is switched on. If it is off, the browser cannot find the other device on the same Wi-Fi.
3. Turn off browser extensions temporarily
Ad blockers and privacy extensions sometimes block the connection. An incognito/private window disables extensions, which makes this easy to test.
4. Switch one device to mobile data
If the Wi-Fi network is the problem, this usually works.
5. Wait a little while
Sometimes it is just temporary congestion.

Yes. Choose "2 Players" and you can pick 30s per move, 3m + 30s, 10m + 30s or 15m + 60s. Just like in Go, the byoyomi count resets after every move, and main time is per game.
Running out of time only shows a notice — the game continues. Stepping away will never cost you the match on its own.

There are 7 difficulty levels. Lv.1–Lv.3 are beginner-friendly (close to random), Lv.4–Lv.5 are mid-tier AIs that choose moves strategically, MAX looks ahead strategically as a serious AI, and FINAL is the top level that discovers "never-before-seen moves." It's quite a tough opponent 😊
Rather than guessing, we measured it. ReverStarGo, 8×8 Reversi and 6×6 Reversi were played against themselves under identical conditions for more than 100,000 games in total.
The finding: depth is not determined by board size or game length. ReverStarGo runs about as long as 6×6 Reversi (36 vs 35 moves on average), yet the variety of play differs greatly. Board shape and rule structure are what matter.
The full method and data are published: Research report.

In the app, go to "Rules" and select Tutorial to learn by playing. The "Learn by Playing" mode is recommended. You can also check the Rules page.
It's the purple cell at the center of the board. The CP can become either color. When you flank through the CP, you must "call" Black or White. See the Rules page for details.
Special series challenges to unlock new CPU levels. Win the majority in a best-of series (e.g., best of 5 or 7) to pass. You can retry as many times as you like. See the Rank System for details.
